KEI Study Abroad

1.) Describe your Education Abroad program(s):

-I studied abroad in Milan, Italy for the past fall semester. My classes were about Italy and its culture and the fashion industry in Italy. We went on group trips through my program to Florence, Venice, and different local places in Milan. My favorite class was styling techniques; we got to style an editorial fashion photo spread! It was an amazing experience. We also got to work with a local elementary school and helped students design outfits.

2.) Is this a good program for other students in your major?
-Yes, the program was tailored to individuals with my major.

3.) Was this your first time abroad?
-Yes

4.) How do you feel that you benefitted from studying abroad?
- I learned a lot about myself and I thoroughly enjoyed learning and being in a different culture.

5.) How do you think this experience will impact your future plans?
-I believe this experience will help when I am applying for job positions and prepare me for any future traveling I may have to do.

6.) How did the experience differ from your expectations?
-Everything in Italy was very slow paced. They take their time to get things done. That is the one thing I struggled with the most because I am so used to being constantly moving and getting things done.

7.) What other countries have you traveled to?
-This was my first time being out of North America. While I was in Italy I travelled to many other countries: Switzerland, Paris, France, Barcelona, Spain, Belgium, and Amsterdam.

8.) Favorite thing about studying abroad?
-Getting to experience a completely different culture and in a place that is known for fashion---which I love!

9.) Suggestions for future students?
-Use every available second to go out and explore or do something, because time abroad goes so fast!
